A badge is a digital artifact issued by the college to document the fact that the badge holder has completed an activity or program. Badges can document a number of different types of activities, ranging from relatively low-stakes efforts such as attendance or participation at a workshop or event (淎ttendance Badges) to more intensive efforts such as completion of a cluster of courses or a major project (淐ompetency Badges). Competency Badges include meta-data on the evidence of learning and links to evaluation criteria. The term 渂adge only references the documenting artifact and implies nothing about the nature or intensity of the experience. At 第一吃瓜网, we currently use the digital platform Credly to issue badges. Badge recipients may share their badges through online platforms such as LinkedIn.
